Well hellllllllo sunshine! Hasn't this week been gorgeous! Even the threat of my impending english exams couldn't keep me locked inside!

Whatcha been up to?

My new Hand of Phatima bracelet (no, I'm not obsessed!!) // little sis looking cute after a charity shop rummage // me and my besties eating veggie-burgers-to-die-for in the sunshine // OOTD // tootsies on the beach // me and molly lapping up the sun // holographic philadelphia // jubilee loot at Sparks Yard, Arundel // jubilee bunting causing excitement!

etsy update: purple shmurple shoppe

One of the greatest outcomes of the explosion in internet shopping in recent years has to be Etsy.com, you can find pretty much anything on there, from beautiful bespoke jewellery to vintage and hand-made clothes. I am an etsy nut, I admit it.

For me, its the jewellery found in the many boutiquey-esque shops. Coming across Purple Shmurple Shoppe was pure chance, I believe I saw a tweet about it and decided to check it out on a whim. Am I glad I did? Helllll yes! Jeanne Silverio's designs are nomadic enough to fulfil even the most wandering of spirits yet so piquantly encapsulate the current trend for aztec, tribal and native american motifs that they suit almost any outfit.

Denim jacket: vintage
Floral blouse: Topshop
Jeans: H&M
Flip flops: Havaianas
Basket bag: vintage

Taken last month in this beautiful village near Seville, perched on a mountain side where the houses were so tiny and looked so precariously balanced; it was both breathtaking and unnerving at the same time. I also realised, halfway up the mountain, that maybe my flip flops weren't the best option...

things i've seen #4

Again, a fairly average week filled with the delights of revision hell and all the guilt and fatigue and general blues that come with it. A week of comfort pj-ing and floods of orange juice (for the vit c!) ensued.

Did anything actually happen?

Lucky pug good luck card... I luv ma mumma // gorgeous new point pumps, H&M beauts // juicing with Molly // discovered Marshmallow Fluff!?!? where has this been all my life!? // rocking horse socks // earl grey pit-stop // cookies and Rimmel 020 Shake Up lippy // Jedward mask, preparing for Eurovision next weekend // sunning on the station // vit c top-up // night in with Ryan Gosling // acid wash and gladiators come out to play!

world's greatest payday

things i've seen: seville #3

Fell in love with Seville while I was there on holiday earlier this year, we stayed in the most gorgeous little village a little way out of the city itself and, along with Cadiz, decided it is high on my list of places to visit again in my travels (especially if my little sister does uni there! HELLLLLO spanish husband!!).

So, what did we see?

Heladeria in Rhonda / paella on the beach / out on the eve of my sis' bday / the old part of Seville / my baby sis / 'TOROS EN SEVILLA' / my trusty havaianas / bull fight a.k.a. worst night of my life!!!!! /on the street / graveyard in Casares / woman in Seville / on the street

gym bunny

Finally some of my exams are over and I can actually do stuff without feeling guilty. One thing I have missed was the lack of free time to hit the gym, pre-exams I went most days (yes, I am a bit obsessed) but during the whole horrible must-revise-every-second couple of months I barely left the house! So getting back in there this week was eugh so good. Well... so was the B&PB on toast, mind you...

PS: Sorry, sweets, for the lack of real photos of late... no time = resorting to ma blackberry (once again!)

exam mess

Eugh. Exam stress. Bane of my life at the moment. Decided the draughty, leak-riddled halls in which I will frit away the next two hours of my life (er, hopefully with good reason) call for a cocoon I can truss myself up in and forget the less than toasty surroundings. Think cosy, mixed with I-can-boss-this-exam.

Here's a little snapshot of what I've been listening to as I slowly pickle myself in literature this week.

Human Eyeballs On Toast- Peter Broderick
Things Are Changing - Gary Clark Jr
Road - Nick Drake
Baby's Arms - Kurt Vile

things i've seen #2

Spring is sort of here? Well, that's what I've been telling myself anyways, cracking out the old glittery nail polish and bright red toes!

So, what's been going down?

Cute note / Madly trying to finish my book / Lunching with moll after terrible physics exam (her not me!) / Again moll looking cute (when doesn't she look cute?!) snuggled up watching 2 Broke Girls / Post-exam celebratory nails / The awful moment when your kindle battery runs out... right at the last chapter!!!!!! / Discovering muller greek yogs (the coconut flavour = heaven) / Morning coffee / And finally Spencers 'sad' face!

clarins luvin

It is no secret, for those of you who don't know, that I am a Clarins addict. My mum is. My grandmother is. Every woman in my family seems to be. So being born practically addicted to the stuff it would be hard to imagine my life without it, however, being a student (and we have all suffered the hardships of a student budget when it comes to our cosmetics!) affording it is something different altogether.

Therefore, as times got tough - payday seeming eons away and my shelf of Clarins began to dwindle - I have whittled it down to the few products I seriously couldn't bear to lose!

First and foremost their Liquid Bronze Self Tanning. Being the pale creature that I am, I swear by fake tan and this one, specifically designed for the face and neck area, gives a lightly sun-kissed tint to my skin, minus the ugly streaks and weird scaly fading of some fake tans I've tried.

Generally my skin treats me fairly well (not often breaking out the day before a big event, etc etc) and I believe it's something that works both ways. That's why I love Clarins' HydraQuench Lotion as not only does it have SPF 15 hidden in it, but it's also perfectly suited to my rather temperamental combination skin. Team that with their Gentle Foaming Cleanser (a must in every woman's evening routine!) and my skin feels soft, supple and well looked after.

things i've seen #1

Having been holed up revising for the most part they aren't all that exciting. I've pretty much only ventured out for coffee, alas, with textbooks in tow.
What have I seen? Rare burst of sunshine, brunching at Si Signore, the little sis enjoying a Scoop & Crumbspring nails ahh, perfect eye-liner in one, cuddles with my baby sis, angel delight revision treat, noodles at London Victoria, juicy juicy.

Yep. Just spent the whole evening drooling over Zara's online. It can't be helped, I have fallen very deeply in love with their latest collection...

PS: hit me up, bitches!

Tuesday 1 May 2012

bonjour!

Well, I seem to be the new girl in town! But maybe that's a great place to be right now on a rainy afternoon in May, armed with a mug of tea and my onesie (don't judge okay!) I'm taking my first leap into the blogosphere! Wish me luck! xox
