crushing on

Yaaaaaaaya, my exams are finito! I had a horribly disgusting English final today, which left everyone balling their eyes out at the fact we-had-to-analyse-a-poem. Ugh. It was vile. Never the less, I can now breathe and possibly sleep through a whole night for the first time in about three months without the evil eyes of my English teachers glaring over me. AHH bliss, the thought of that lie-in tomorrow never seemed so sweet!
Now I am off to curl up into a little ball in my bed and gorge on Girls to my hearts content!

weekend in the city: snapshots of the jubilee

So spent the beautiful (yet rainy) weekend looking like a drowned rat at the Jubilee celebrations in the city. London was electric. Us Britons don't let a little downpour dampen our royal festivities!

jubilee fever

jubilee buys

I don't know about you but I love a good party; garden party, street party, tea party. Any kind of celebration involving lounging in the sun devouring piles of patisseries and waving union jacks around our heads sounds mighty fine to me! And this weekend what could be a bigger excuse to party than the Queen's Diamond Jubilee?

Living so close to London we really have caught the Jubilee fever this week, so here are some of my top picks to celebrate the beautiful Queen's day in style.

Cute pup + union jack + crown bling = heaven, no!? ASOS have done us proud // Who wouldn't want a knitted Queen, found here on etsy.com // Love LYDIA LEITH'S Jubilee range, in particular (and for no rational reason I can think of) her 'Bling it up' sick bag

Pamper your pooch this weekend with Jubilee styled bandanas, they're fit for a corgi! // The Orphan's Arms 'Queen of London' vest = nonplussed Jubilee costume sorted // Classic Cambridge Satchel to carry round London on the big day

Stop for tea, jubilee-style // Ladurée have released a special selection of macarons in honour of Her Majesty's celebrations // And finally, from the same LYDIA LEITH as the sick bag (!!) we bring Jubilee temp tatts!!!

july glamour & benefit minis

Okay, so every year Glamour team up with Benefit to produce these little minis and every year they sell out within seconds. I, however, managed to get my hands on 'Bad gal lash' and 'the POREfessional' because, well, for £2 a pop they are really worth it, especially if like me you use a couple of them daily anyway.

The POREfessional I love, even though my skin is fairly blemish free for a girl of my age I find it does help to mattify without clogging up the rest of my make-up anddd it gives my foundation (when I use it that is, mostly I stick to tinted moisturiser... it works wonders!!) staying power.

It's the 'that gal' primer I'm really looking forward to trying though (when I can get my hands on it!!). Having never been a huge fan of primers in the past, it will be interesting to see how I rate this... as a rule, I usually adore all Benefit products! Oh well, all will be tried and tested this glorious Jubilee weekend, they are the perfect size to slip in my overnight bag while I'm away. Update y'all soon.

PS: I broke my hiatus! I just couldn't stay away, what with the festivities in the air n'all!!
